Hudis - Head's Up Display.

Welcome to the world of level-headed, eyes forward flight! The HUDIS™ system represents a technological break through in advaced avionics design. Not only will the Head's Up Display keep your line of sight up and out of the cockpit; where it belongs, HUDIS™ also incorprates advanced navigation features previously unavailable on a low cost unit.

HUDIS™ is easily interfaced to your existing static line, pitot line, and GPS or Loran systems. The 6 inch diagonal glass display screen shows airspeed or vertical speed, GPS crosstrack, Distance, Groundspeed, and Altitude. As an option, an additional external interface even allows HUDIS™ to display Course Deviation Indications from your VOR/ILS. Because it's Heads-Up, it makes your flying much easier and safer. Two working modes can be selected (En Route/NAV or Approach/ILS) and two special functions can display markers in IAS & ALT indicators. The display can be mounted flush into the aircraft's dash or above it. The control box performs the measurements of IAS & ALT data (for example, you may want to mark your DH and Approach Speed) delivered by internal pressure transducers and a single RS 232C output from most any GPS or Loran.

Hudis™ Display
The display on the HUDIS™ can be shown in day or night vision (the night vision is shown to the left). There is also a dimming switch that is incorperated into the system. It allows the user to "brighten" or "dim" the unit according to how much light is needed. To clean the display, it removes from the unit and can be washed with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
The display is a 20% reflective first surface mirror, also called a combiner. The combiner is supported by the base which houses the projector, power supply, lighting and digital circuits.
