EBC 502H - Emergency Locator Transmitter

The EBC 502H adapts all the ingenious characteristics of the EBC 502 to the special needs of helicopters. It has FAA TSO-C91a approval. Designed to be mounted within reach of the pilot, co-pilot or crew, the EBC 502H meets the increased survivability needs of the helicopter environment. As with all EBC ELTs, its electronic and activation systems are completely encapsulated for increased protection against shock and moisture, and extra protection is provided for the crystal. Its true 360° spherical 6-axis G-switch design makes it specially equipped to tackle the problems unique to helicopter flight, for when a chopper goes down, it can go down in any number of directions, making the ordinary single-axis G-switch inadequate. The EBC 502H has been engineered for helicopter operation by reducing sensitivity to low-frequency turbine and rotor input. Our design makes the ELT more immune to false activation yet retains high sensitivity to actual crash situations. True to the advances of the EBC 502 series, the EBC 502H also has been outfitted with an external audible monitor.
